‘Confirmed: Winnie-the-Pooh Returns in Blood and Honey 3’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3

In what is sure to evoke both excitement and shock within the film industry, Rhys Frake-Waterfield and Scott Chambers from the renowned horror production company Jagged Edge Productions have officially confirmed the production of a third installment in the blood-soaked ‘Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey’ franchise.

Titled ‘Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3’, the upcoming film promises a significantly larger budget compared to its predecessors. It will also introduce new characters from the original Winnie-the-Pooh stories, such as Rabbit, the heffalumps, and the woozles, all of whom are expected to undergo twisted and malevolent transformations.

This announcement follows closely on the heels of the theatrical release of ‘Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2′ in the United States, which is currently screening as part of its limited 3-day run via Fathom Events. It comes just over a year after the launch of the initial installment, marking the rapid expansion of what has now become a three-part franchise.

Despite facing harsh criticism from reviewers, the original ‘Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey’ defied expectations by becoming an unexpected box office sensation and a significant cultural phenomenon in early 2023. The film, which depicted A. A. Milne’s beloved bear as a savage, hammer-wielding serial killer, was produced on a shoestring budget of under $50,000 but managed to rake in an astounding $5.2 million worldwide, boasting one of the most impressive budget-to-box office ratios in cinematic history.

While official box office numbers for ‘Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2’ are yet to be disclosed, industry insiders suggest that the film, with a budget reportedly ten times larger than its predecessor, has garnered a considerably more positive reception within the genre community. Many critics have praised it as a significant improvement over the original. However, Owen Gleiberman of Variety, in his review, described the sequel as “largely chaotic,” though he acknowledged its heightened level of intensity, which includes “more dismemberments, decapitations, and facial mutilations.” Additionally, the redesigned portrayal of Pooh, resembling a menacing version of Jim Carrey’s Grinch, was noted.

The announcement of a third installment in the “Blood and Honey” series coincides with Jagged Edge Productions’ recent unveiling of their latest project, a low-budget horror adaptation of “Avengers: Infinity War” titled “Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble.” This crossover film merges characters from “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey” with other iconic figures from their expanding Twisted Childhood Universe. Alongside Winnie-the-Pooh, viewers can anticipate encountering sinister renditions of beloved characters such as Bambi, Tinkerbell, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Tigger, Piglet, The Mad Hatter, and Sleeping Beauty, all of whom will be portrayed as murderous entities.

“Poohniverse” is scheduled for release in 2025. However, whether it enters production before “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3” remains uncertain at this time.
